Review by hotel critic
Our stay at Hoeve De Eshof was a delightful escape to a traditional Saxon farm in the charming village of Norg, Drenthe. The warm welcome by Annemarie and the impeccable housekeeping set the tone for a truly relaxing holiday. Stepping into our one-bedroom apartment, we were greeted by a modern, country-style décor, complete with a cozy living room and a private bathroom with plush bathrobes. The property's attention to detail was evident throughout, with a sun terrace, outdoor pool perfect for a refreshing swim, and the option to enjoy packed lunches, catering to every guest's needs. We especially enjoyed the serene garden where we spent leisurely afternoons, unwinding amidst the beautiful landscaping. The convenience of bike hire allowed us to explore the picturesque surroundings, perfect for city walks or cycling enthusiasts.Just a short drive away, Groningen beckoned with its Martini Church and renowned museums, offering a mix of cultural delights and shopping escapades. The proximity to Assen, with its Drents Museum and TT circuit, provided further opportunities for exploration. Despite our unexpected early departure, Annemarie and her husband Jelte were understanding and gracious, leaving us with a feeling of true hospitality.Combining heritage charm with modern comforts, Hoeve De Eshof was a tranquil oasis that we look forward to returning to. The seamless blend of Dutch design aesthetics, comfortable amenities, and personalized service made our stay a memorable one, reflecting the essence of Dutch hospitality at its finest.
